East Gwillmbury

East Gwillimbury is a rural and historic  town and has plenty to offer. Take in one of the many events and concerts at the Sharon Temple, designated a national historic site. Play a variety of golf courses including the prestigious Silver Lakes Golf Club. Rogers Reservoir Conservation Area, home to one of the locks along the "ghost canal" system is a popular spot for birders and hikers.  This canal was built to accommodate shipping between Newmarket and Lake Sincoe in 1911 and then never used.  Remnants of the abandoned canal, a lock and swing bridge are located in the park. This 96-hectare site is a great place to watch the birds nest and cast a fishing line.

Winter activities are in abundance in East Gwillimbury, including over 49,000 kilometres of groomed snowmobile trails in Ontario.  There is a trail access to virtually every destination you may choose.

The East Gwillimbury Sports Complex boasts two ice surfaces and auditorium facilities offering ice time year round for adult and youth hockey, figure skating, recreational skating, as well as floor time for ball hockey, lacrosse, and a variety of special events year round.
